For those who still think that making maps is fun and that it's just "thrown" into the game ... try it yourself, you can start right away - ETS2 and ATS games are open - 99% of all attempts end after a month and before, and 99% of all those jobs are copy/paste of already existing jobs. And then we get copy/paste uninteresting folders.
My working day consists (almost the same every day) like this:
1. I wake up at 6am, make breakfast for my wife and myself
2. at 7.30 am I start with the maps
3. I work until 1pm - in the meantime I make 3-5 coffees (Turkish)
4. from 1-3pm I make lunch and eat lunch with my wife
5. from 3pm to 8pm I will certainly continue to work on the maps
6. often, when I have a good day, work on maps extends until 11am
7. I work every day of the week, Saturday, Sunday, 7/24/365
Personally, I'm proud of myself, that I still have the strength to do all those maps for both games after almost 15 years of working on SCS games. And I think that I will continue to work for at least another 3-5 years. And then I'll see.
Unlike players, who just turn on the PC and play ATS or ETS2 games, I do it every 6-8 months once for about 3-5 hours ... and that's all. I just don't have time to play games. When I get into another game at dinner, it's just to clear my head and think in parallel what I could do next in the coming days in ETS2 and ATS maps. I actually live with those two games...I just can't get them out of my head.
